Touch a Truck Waveland

Waveland kids have a better understanding of real heavy duty equipment after an education event Sunday.
They got up close and personal at the Touch a Truck event on Coleman Avenue. Kids got a chance to hear many sirens sounding and horns honking. There were trucks of all kind, including fire trucks, food trucks, ambulance, and even a helicopter.
Kids could jump inside and see what it feels like to be a first responder. Don Siebenkittel with Beautification and Belighted Properties said, “It’s an opportunity to get kids to come out and see first responders and get to see their neat toys and makes them a little bit more aware when we come out on scene with them, that way they are not scared. They just really think it is cool. This is the second one we have done and next year we plan to make it a lot bigger.”
The director of the event told News 25 they want to have events like this in all cities along the Coast.
