Tornado Spotted in Saucier

The Saucier community in Harrison County had quite a scare this afternoon as a tornado was spotted in the area just before 5 p.m.
Harrison County authorities followed the tornado east from West Wortham Road to East Wortham Road. One emergency management report says the tornado did touch down but Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan says no one was injured and no damage has been reported.
Residents say they’re glad the storm wasn’t worse. Resident Sandy East said, “You could see the clouds coming together and they were pulling in from both directions and it was just a funnel cloud. It looked like the tornado was coming down just behind the gym and you could see it and it moved just behind the gym and it went west and it was kind of scary.”
The tornado traveled east into Jackson County before moving out of Mississippi.
