Today is National Register to Vote Day
Today is National Register to Vote Day and time is ticking to make sure you’re registered with just six weeks to go before the November 3rd Presidential Election.
The deadline to register to vote by mail and in person is Monday, October 5th. Aside from the presidential race, this year’s ballot includes other important initiatives, amendments, and the Mississippi flag election.
Registration began Monday for voters filing absentee ballots and Harrison County Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner says voters really showed up. “We had an extremely large turnout yesterday for absentee voting. This is my 36th year in the circuit clerk’s office and it was the largest total that I’ve ever seen, and I’ve worked many presidential elections. It’s a very important election and I encourage everyone to take a look at the sample ballot before you go. There’s a sample ballot on the county’s website. Take a look at it because there are a lot of races on the ballot as well as amendments and initiative.”
If you would like to vote absentee, but are unsure if you qualify the reasons are posted on the county’s website at co.harrison.ms.us.
