Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department Offering Thanks

As the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department continues to grieve the weekend shooting death of one of its own, officials are offering thanks to all the law enforcement and first responders who came to their assistance.
Early Saturday morning, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Agent Lee Tartt was shot and killed by a suspect who has been identified as 45-year-old Charles Lambert.
Tartt and other agents were dispatched to a domestic situation at the suspect’s home where he was with his wife and child on Friday afternoon. After a six hour standoff, two tactical teams, made up of members of the MBN and Mississippi Highway Patrol, entered the home. After entering, shots were fired and Agent Lee Tartt was killed and three state troopers were wounded.
The child and wife were rescued. Lambert was dead on the scene.
