Time to Get Muddy at the Seabee Base!

It may be muddy after Thursday’s rain around south Mississippi, but at the Seabee Base, the mud is welcome as the 19th Annual Seabee Mud Run kicks off Saturday.

The five mile course takes runners around the base and into a giant mud obstacle course. This year, the base anticipates close to 1,500 runners. The proceeds go towards the Seabee Ball in February.

Danny Calhan, M.W.R. Operations Manager, says, "It involves road running, cross country running, obstacles, and of course as you can see, mud. We have two separate mud pits, each one of them is about three quarters of a mile long, dropping through the mud and obstacles."

The event will run from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you’d like to get in on the action, you can register there for $50 dollars.
