Three Coast soccer teams bring home state titles
On Saturday, three teams from the Gulf Coast made the long trip back from the Metro with some shiny new hardware riding shotgun.
Bay High found redemption from last year’s title game loss with a 2-0 win over North Pontotoc in the 4A boys championship. Second title all time, first since 2012.
In the 5A boys sector, Long Beach turning into a dynasty, completing the three-peat, having now gone to state six years in a row. Alexander Mink scoring the lone goal for the Bearcats in the 1-0 win over Lafayette.
Last but not least, St. Patrick Lady Irish winning the Class I title, 6-0 blowout over Tupelo Christian. Former News 25 Student Athletes of the Week, Linda Mustered and Bella Jordan both scoring a pair of goals in the win.
