Three arrested for threat against St. Martin Middle School
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department have arrested three juveniles in two separate incidents since Saturday, October 5 for allegedly making threats against St. Martin Middle School.
According to Sheriff Mike Ezell, the first arrest occurred Saturday, October 5th during a dance where a student threatened to “shoot up” the school. Investigators arrested two more students Tuesday, October 8th on the same charges. Sheriff Ezell says more arrests could follow.
Deputies are currently on school property following up on Tuesday’s arrests.
Under the recently passed Senate Bill 2141, threats and statements like these are considered felony offenses.
All juveniles are 13 years old and attend the middle school. They are all being held at the Jackson County Youth Court.
