Down Syndrome awareness in Poplarville

It’s a cause close to her heart and she’s raising awareness year round.

Brandi Berkhimer’s son, Ashton, was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth and he was the inspiration for her writing the book “My Little Sunshine Face.”

Berkhimer shared her story and smiles at a book signing yesterday in Poplarville. This was one of many events throughout our area to observe National Down Syndrome Day.
