Sweets and Champagne Cancer Benefit

One in every four deaths in the United States is caused by cancer, which is why 300 people came together tonight to raise their glass in an effort to celebrate more birthdays.
Tonight, the local chapter of the American Cancer Society hosted the sixth annual “Sweets and Champagne”, a benefit to raise money for the official sponsors of birthdays. Along with food and fun, there was a silent auction with all proceeds going to cancer research.
Event Chair Jessica Bartels said, “We all have a desire to end cancer and we’ve all been affected, even by a loved one or a friend, a co-worker. So, we’re all here for one cause tonight and that’s to end cancer.”
Tonight’s honorees were cancer patient Ginger Worth and her doctor, Allison Wall.
