‘Surfin’ into Kindergarten’ meet and greet at North Woolmarket Elementary

As the back to school countdown enters the final stretch, teachers are finding creative ways to meet and greet with their students.

Kindergarten teachers at North Woolmarket Elementary School held a ‘Surfin’ into Kindergarten’ event this evening as a way to safely meet incoming students and parents and answer any questions they may have.

Students received a new backpack and supplies courtesy of Keesler Federal Credit Union and parents got important information on orientation and how new regulations affect the school year.

Teachers say there’s still a lot of excitement about the new school year. Teacher Cassandra Haydis said, “It’s just great to feel a little bit of normalcy and get them back into the classroom where they can get excited to learn, excited to see their friends, see their teachers, and be back at school.”

Students return to school in the Harrison County School District this Thursday, August 6th.
