Supply Drive for Louisiana Flood Victims

The support continues for Louisiana flood victims here along the Gulf Coast.
United service organizations along the Coast and multiple community members organized a flood relief supply drive specifically for service members and their families.
Together, the group collected a semi-truck full of supplies to assist these families as they begin to rebuild their lives in Baton Rouge.
Support organizations on Keesler Air Force Base, the Seabee Base and the National Guard all played a major role in providing support to service members affected by flooding. USO Gulf Coast Director Felice Gillium said, “It’s countless to be able to know that we’ll help so many people through this effort. We are obviously right on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and so many people from around the world came in to assist us. It was very important to make sure that our service members and their families were taken care of”
The City of Gulfport, Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, Island View Casino and Mississippi Power also played major roles in bringing this project to fruition.
