Super Bowl safety tips
Whatever plans you have to boycott or watch the Super Bowl, it is important to drink responsibly during the big game.
If you plan to drink, make sure you have arranged a designated driver to bring you home. There will be Uber and cab drivers for those leaving Super Bowl parties after the game.
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson tells News 25 wrecks and fatalities have occurred due to drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday.
Whether you plan to watch the game at a friend’s house or a bar, drunk driving is not worth risking lives on the road. Sheriff Peterson said, “If you are at a bar, they are going to serve you up until a certain point. If you are at somebody’s house or at a Super Bowl party, you are going to drink as much as you want to drink. Just be safe. That’s all we are asking. Make sure that somebody is driving home that is sober.”
You can download the National Highway Transportation Safety Administrators safer ride mobile app. The app allows you to share your location so a friend can pick you up after the game.
