Summer camp returns at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies

A place where they bring nature close to you and make learning fun, summer camps are back at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport.

From parakeets to a touch pool and even a water slide, kids had no choice but to have fun at the Ocean Adventures Marine Park.

While kids were having fun during the present, they were also able to prepare for their future as well.

Kids were able to shadow different departments such as research stranding, vet, and lots of other things while enjoying their unique experience. Summer Camp Coordinator and Senior Marine Educator Abbie Smith said, “Our summer camp is just so interactive. It’s a lot of fun. It’s definitely unique experiences. We’ve been able to incorporate a lot of animal interactions and everything. We’ve also been able to kind of make this the ultimate job shadow.”

The popular program is booked to capacity and has incorporated additional classes to meet the high demand of camp-goers.
