Gulfport High School Students Sign to Play JUCO Basketball

Two Gulfport High students signed on the dotted line this morning, committing to play basketball at two junior colleges.
Point Guard Tyrell McArthur is heading to Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. Aarmanii McDaniel signed to Pearl River Community College.
Both athletes credit Gulfport High for preparing them for the next level, both on and off the court.
“Education wise, it’s up to me. I gotta do what I have to do. Basketball, they teach you about family, the importance of being on time and stuff like that. So, just taking that to next level,” said McArthur.
“I learned how to be a leader and use my strong points to get everybody ready and stuff. On and off the court I’m just, I guess, a leader,” said McDaniel.
Both coaches of the girls and boys basketball teams wished the players luck as they head to the next level.
