Storm Damage In Lamar County

Officials are stating that another possible tornado touched down just north of us in Lamar County yesterday morning.

A home and an elementary school were damaged from fallen trees, while several power and trees lines are also down.

The storm caused a crash in Jones County where a deputy escaped a near fatal accident when his patrol car hydroplaned and struck a power pole.

The deputy was able to exit the vehicle and was taken to a hospital where he was released.
