Stone County School District officials announce opening date for Tomcat Field

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Stone County School District has set an opening date for Tomcat Field.

The Tomcat football team will take the field at their new home for the first time on September 25. That is homecoming and the team’s second scheduled home game of the season.

While the playing field is expected to be ready before that date, officials say key features. Including ADA-accessible walkways, restrooms, the concession stand, and ticket booth, won’t be finished in time for the large crowds expected.

Information on the location and ticketing for the August 28 home game will be released in the coming days.
