Steel Framing Starts to Go Up at Baseball Stadium Site

The Biloxi baseball stadium is reaching new heights.

This week, construction began on a steel beam structure which will support the coaches’ offices, clubhouse, concession stand, restrooms, and novelty shops. The steel structure is being built behind the team’s dugout along the first base line. Biloxi officials are expecting crowds to flock to the stadium after construction is complete.

A.J. Holloway, Mayor of Biloxi, says, “I think we will have a very good attendance at all the baseball games that we have, and of course we’ll be using that stadium for other things too, like concerts, rodeos. Just any type of activities we can come up with, we’ll be putting them in there.”

The $36 million stadium is scheduled for completion in August of next year.
