State Of The County Address
It’s a good time to live in Harrison County. That was the focus of Harrison County Board Supervisors President Beverly Martin’s speech this morning during her state of the county address. The event hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce at The I-P Casino and Resort was an opportunity for martin to highlight just what the county has been up to over the past several months. At the top of the list, finishing up the Lorraine Road Bridge ahead of schedule and under budget. Also knocking out a zoning plan for the county when it comes to the new go-cup law all this done with a board featuring three new members. Beverly Martin, Harrison County Board of Supervisors President think the biggest accomplishment is that we have a new board that works really well together and that we’re looking at all these contracts. That was one thing that was brought up to me time and time again is we need to- look at doing proposals. Some of these contracts haven’t been bid out in 16 years and some of them longer than that. As for the future, martin is eager to tackle the Biloxi Boardwalk Project and make it a reality.
