St. Stanislaus embracing next challenge
St. Stanislaus will be hosting Poplarville in a second round matchup of familiar foes from Class 4A.
The Rock-A-Chaws have a tall task ahead against the undefeated Hornets, but they’re prepared to sting back after their first round victory over McComb.
SSC has been proving people wrong all season after graduating four division I players in the spring and those rowdy Rocks don’t plan on stopping now.
St. Stanislaus Head Coach Jeff Jordan said, “I’m proud of their work ethic. I think they’ve bought into the system this year. Could be worse, could be better. But we’re happy with where we are, we’re proud to be in the playoffs. We’ve got a big challenge this week with Poplarville.”
St. Stanislaus Quarterback Jake Greer said, “”We’re still the same way we were coming into this year, just proving people wrong. Proving the doubters wrong, a lot of people think we can’t accomplish anything just because we graduate Division I players. But we’re here to show them that if you’re hard working and setting your mind to a goal, you can accomplish that.”
That game will kickoff at 7 p.m. from Bay St. Louis.
