St. Martin Teen Arrested for Armed Robbery & Burglary
Just two days earlier on Friday, La’Darius McClelland allegedly walked into a home on J.F. Douglas in St. Martin with a knife and demanded a woman’s vehicle. Jackson County Sheriff, Mike Ezell, says the vehicle was tracked by On-star and was recovered along with McClelland in D’Iberville.
Ezell says, "Luckily, the victim in the case had the On-star in their automobile. On-star was contacted, they shut the automobile down. Thankfully the D’Iberville Police were in the area, saw this car, they had received our information through police radio and were able to make the arrest."
If convicted, McClelland could face up to life in prison for armed robbery and an additional 10 years if convicted of burglary.
