St. Martin 4 star OL picking Mississippi State over Miami
When St. Martin offensive lineman Brandon Cunningham received his initial offer from Mississippi State in November, the Bulldogs didn’t have a head coach. But, now they do and Joe Moorhead has been hot on the recruiting trail of the four-star Yellow Jacket.
On Friday, Cunningham flipped his commitment from Miami to MSU after feeling a strong calling to play the next level in his home state. As a rising senior, the Starkville bound right tackle is sure to get more division I attention this season especially considering his 6’5”, 305 pound frame.
Cunningham says his desire to work hard outweighs the idea of a South Beach getaway. “I mean I’ve got it tatted on my flesh, so I’m pretty sure it means a lot. Mississippi Made, like Mississippi is not a highly recruited bed. Like you see all these boys from Florida, Texas, stuff like that, they get recruited, but we’re the most slept on state and I feel like we shouldn’t be underrated because on the charts, man, we produce athletes, yo. We produce like heck of athletes. Like Cam Akers right now, he’s crushing it at Florida State right now. Like he’s crushing it right now. Mississippi Made and stuff like that. And I just want to put on for my state, though.”
Cunningham tells News 25 he’s unsure on whether he’ll sign his national letter of intent during the early period in December or on National Signing Day in February.
