St. Joseph Hospice Senior shrimp boil
Hundreds of seniors packed into the D’Iberville Senior Center today to enjoy fresh boiled gulf shrimp, corn, and potatoes.
St. Joseph Hospice hosted the community-wide inaugural event for the first time in D’Iberville this year. The seniors sat down for good food and company and even received information about home health, Medicaid, Medicare, and other helpful resources.
It’s just one of the many community events put on by St. Joseph Hospice all year round to give back to those who paved the way for us. St. Joseph Hospice Vice President of Operations Mark Crowson said, “It’s just amazing that we get to come out here and meet them. The stories we get to hear from them, it’s refreshing. We’ve met people who are engineers on some of the biggest bridges in the United States and they’ll tell you all about it. They just want somebody to talk to and that’s why we’re here.”
St. Joseph Hospice will host another shrimp boil in two weeks for seniors in Picayune.
