Sports books gearing up for NFL kickoff
The NFL regular season started last night and Sunday teams will hit the field for week one.
With sports betting on the rise, casinos on the Coast are expecting the NFL to have a huge role in the bets that will be placed this weekend.
With college football starting last week, many casinos saw fans come in to make their bets. The Palace Casino in Biloxi saw a significant gain in bets as the days went on especially wagers made for the SEC and college football. They believe the amount of bets that will come in this weekend will only make those numbers grow.
The Palace has seen a lot of out of state people come in to put their money on college football so they think it will be no different for the NFL regular season.
They are ready to see what this weekend will bring because of how much guests have been enjoying the book so far. Palace Casino General Manager Keith Crosby said, “We’re anxious this weekend with seeing a Thursday through Sunday night and then into Monday Night Football run. It should be interesting. I think the results of this weekend will set the benchmark for how the whole thing is going to perform.”
Many regulars to the Palace have told Crosby they are planning on making a trip to the sports book this weekend to bet on games.
