‘Spooky Science Performances’ at Pass Christian Elementary
Students at Pass Christian Elementary put a spooky twist on science today. The second grade Explore Gifted Class perfected their Halloween-themed experiments for the entire month of October to present today at their ‘Spooky Science Performances.’
Students made spooky slime and hallow fog using basic chemistry techniques and explained the scientific processes to their fellow students in different grade levels.
Gifted Teacher Jane Bunn says the performances help students improve their public presentation skills. “It’s very difficult for students to take on the role of public speaking and to be comfortable and confident which is one of our gifted skills is to grow in confidence with communication. I’ve seen them grow just in today.”
Students in the audience also had a chance to participate by helping the spooky science crew create experiment hypothesis.
