Special session to focus on budget
The upcoming special session for the Mississippi Legislature will solely focus on dealing with the state budget.
Previously there was speculation lawmakers could consider the idea of a lottery during next month’s special session. Governor Phil Bryant put an end to those rumors when he announced the session will focus on finishing the state budget.
Bryant went on to say he may ask legislators to consider unspecified budget controls to address credit rating agencies’ concerns about Mississippi’s finances.
The special session is set to start June 5th.
