Southern Miss-Florida Atlantic game postponed due to FAU’s issues COVID-19 protocols
The Southern Miss Florida Atlantic football game was originally in question, pending the track of Hurricane Delta, but as it turns out, the coronavirus is going to cost the Golden Eagles their first home game of October.
USM announced the decision to call off Saturday’s 3 p.m. contest on Thursday night after FAU determined it had too many players sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols.
The two Conference USA schools are going to work together to try to schedule a new date for the game, despite USM not having a bye week from now until after the Conference USA title game.
Issues with COVID-19 are nothing new for the Owls, who have already canceled two games and postponed another two games prior to this one.
Next up for the Golden Eagles is an October 17th road game at UTEP.
