Southern Miss’ Austin Crowley headlines Howell, Gillom Trophy finalists
Southern Miss basketball’s Austin Crowley is one of three finalists for the Howell Trophy, going to the top men’s basketball player in the Magnolia State.
This season, the junior guard has been the center piece of USM’s 17-win turn around, leading the Golden Eagles with more than 16 points per game and is also the team leader in three pointers and steals.
Crowley joined by Mississippi State’s Tolu Smith, averaging 15 points and eight rebounds per game and Matthew Murrell out of Ole Miss, also putting up 15 points per contest.
On the women’s side, same school’s representing for the Gillom Trophy, those being Southern Miss’ Domonique Davis, Mississippi State’s Jessika Carter, and Ole Miss’ Angel Baker.
