Southern League All-Star Game logo revealed

As the Shuckers get ready to enter their fifth season of operation in Biloxi, they’re also preparing to host a historic event for the Gulf Coast.

Today, Shuckers officials unveiled the 2019 Southern League All-Star Game logo for the June 17th and 18th showcase at MGM Park. The design was completed in-house by Shuckers Marketing Manager Dani Polen, complete with the Biloxi Lighthouse and the Biloxi Bay Bridge as core components to the logo’s identity.

With former Southern League all-stars like 2016 NL MVP Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs and 2018 AL CY Young winner Blake Snell of the Tampa Bay Rays now doing big things in the majors, Biloxi Shuckers Media Relations and Broadcaster Garrett Greene says it’s all about who is next. “We’ve tried to establish in the five years that we’ve been here, going on now our fifth year, an identity with the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and we just felt like this was another opportunity to really showcase that. The AA-Southern League gets a lot of attention, it gets a lot of notoriety because of the names that have come out of it and the players that it’s produced. And so it is going to be the highest level of baseball that is played at MGM Park all season long. We love the Shuckers, we love what they do, but this is a collection of the best talent. These are guys who are just steps away from the Major Leagues, they’ll be in the Majors in the next couple of years and we’ve listed off the names before, you’re going to see guys who will be super stars in Major League Baseball.”

This will be the first-ever professional baseball all-star game held on the Gulf Coast.
