Social media threat reported to Gautier Middle School

Gautier Middle School was placed on Shelter in Place this morning in response to a social media threat which was reported by a parent Monday morning (Feb. 19, 2018). The campus remained in shelter in place (stay put in classrooms) for 45 minutes.

Gautier Police Department and the Pascagoula-Gautier School District Law Enforcement Division were at the campus to investigate the threat first thing this morning. We visited every classroom and are working to identify all parties who are the source of the threat.

The school is no longer in shelter in place, and regular class schedules have resumed. The Pascagoula-Gautier School District will take appropriate action against the individuals who posted the threat.
