Six Ocean Springs High student athletes honored at Signing Day Ceremony

Although the school year is almost over, the celebrations are far from over.

This morning at Ocean Springs High School, a half-dozen Greyhounds signed national letters of intent, headlined by former News 25 Student Athlete of the Week Camryn Carter. The senior cheerleader putting pen to paper with LSU, alongside teammate Jimisha Thomas, who’s also going Division I with Jackson State University.

Another pair of dance teammates letting the ink dry as Morgan Cashwell heads up to Southern Miss to become a Dixie Darling and Kylee Chulli signing with MGCCC.

On the gridiron, Will Gray doing the honors with Mississippi College. On the diamond, Jay Patrick Ford signing with Southwest Mississippi Community College.

Thomas said, “I hope to bring what I’ve learned here to Jackson State because they really taught me a lot here. I hope to help them grow and I hope that they help me grow and I hope that I flourish in Jackson.”

Gray said, “Coach earlier talked about me being undersized and I like to say that’s not anything in my criteria of being anything scared of anybody else. I’m just really excited to go play at the next level and be a Mississippi College football player.”

Carter said, “Seeing all my cheer team here, all my friends and family support me and just to wear the LSU in OS it was just kind of a hit me moment like it really came to me like ‘wow this is really happening’ and I just felt all the love and support.”
