Singing River Health System gets new partnership
People on the Gulf Coast just received a boost in healthcare accessibility with the announcement of an official partnership between Singing River Health System and Garden Park in Gulfport.
A celebration with a side of cake and a new name, Singing River Health System has officially entered a partnership with Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport which CEO Lee Bond says will now be known as Singing River Gulfport. “This is a really big deal to us and to the community. For us to be able to invest in such a great property, 32 acres, 130 beds at a phenomenal location with most importantly a great group of people who share a culture focused on quality like we already have in our other two properties.”
Bond says the partnership comes with many benefits including the possibility of growth and the addition of new jobs. “From a job standpoint, we do not plan any layoffs. In fact, we plan the opposite. We’re looking to grow. We tell people if you know someone who is talented and hardworking and selfless, we’re looking to hire those people- clinical and nonclinical to help facilitate the growth we are looking for in areas like cardiology, oncology and surgical services.”
Singing River Gulfport Administrator Tiffany Murdock says the partnership will increase healthcare quality and accessibility for many across the Gulf Coast. “I’m so excited about this from a quality perspective. I am a nurse by background. So to be able to give access to the entire Gulf Coast from Hancock to Pascagoula, even as far as Mobile is really, really exciting and with the technology, the services, the innovation we can bring. We’ll be soon opening a Cath lab here at Singing River Gulfport, more surgical services. We’ll be investing in robotics, also women’s and pediatric care.”
Bond says there will be a grand opening in November.
