Singing His Heart Out: Moss Point Native Rod Stokes Hopes to Make Final 4 on “The Voice”
Moss Point native Rod Stokes hopes he will be one of the eight last singers standing, and singing, in NBC’s”The Voice” competition.
Monday night Stokes took to the stage to belt out a duet to the song “Yesterday” with fellow contestant Maelyn Jarmon. Stokes and South Mississippians, as well as people in the Grand Bay, Alabama, area where the Moss Point native now lives, are hoping “Yesterday” will be good enough to help him make it to the final four, narrowed down from the Final 8 who all performed on NBC’s “The Voice” Monday night in a battle of the vocal cords.
Stokes, the only contestant left on coach Kelly Clarkson’s team, also performed his own version of Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain” on Monday night.
Audience votes have been the make-or break-point for several contestants along the way. Tune in Tuesday night at 7 p.m. to WXXV NBC to see for yourself if Stokes makes the cut once again and goes into the Final Four in “The Voice.”
