Sign up to be in a movie

Hollywood is coming to Gulfport which means residents now have the chance to sign up to be in a movie.
A Christmas movie is set to be filmed in Jones Park that will feature the lighting of the famous dancing trees from the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival. The production team is looking for volunteers to come out this Saturday, August 26th, to create a festive look as a back drop for scenes in the movie that will show off the City of Gulfport to the world. It’ll be some good fun for the whole family with the event taking place from 5 p.m. until 4 a.m. Chris Vignes with the City of Gulfport Public Affairs said, “It’s exciting times for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, you know, to have Hollywood movie productions taking place this week. It’s really a great reward for all of us that are here doing a lot of big things, you know, not only for the City of Gulfport, but all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They’re inviting the public to come out. Everyone’s invited to apply, all ages, all sizes, everybody. It’s a really cool project so we’re pumped.”
Anyone wanting to apply must sign up by Thursday, August 24th, at 6 p.m. through Casting the Coast. Make sure to email a picture of yourself to Castingthecoast@gmail.com.
