Shuckers Will Officially Play at MGM Park on June 6th

After Wednesday’s announcement that the city couldn’t afford to speed up construction, a deal between city officials and the Shuckers was struck, now the nearly $300,000 the city owed the team will be doing towards construction.
Tim Bennett, Biloxi Shuckers co-owner, said, “ it’s kind of typical when you’re getting into crunch time on negotiations, trying to make sure everything fits into a timeline, especially the opening of the stadium. We’ve had some good cooperation take place with the Governor’s office, locally with the mayor, and Yates has put us in a fantastic position.”
With the common goal of all these groups finally in sight, now it’s time to move on to the next spot on the line up. Biloxi public affairs manager, Vincent Creel, said, “ Now what we’re doing is concentrating on getting that stadium open and what we’re going to be doing in the next several days is educating the public on where to park and we’re going to have a huge game day experience in downtown Biloxi.”
