Shuckers trio makes big league rotation
At the beginning of Milwaukee Brewers spring training, the narrative was one open spot in the starting rotation and three pitchers in the running for that job. As it turns out, all three former Biloxi Shuckers got the job anyway.
Today the organization announced the trio of Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, and Brandon Woodruff would be starting the regular season in the rotation.
Both Burnes and Peralta made their major league debuts last season, the latter with a dazzling 13 strikeout performance on Mother’s Day.
Woodruff bounced between the majors and minors, but all three excelled in various roles extending into the post-season.
There’s been no order assigned to the right handed trio, but the three former Shuckers will be slotted second through fourth in the rotation.
