Shuckers Take on Jackson State
The Biloxi Shuckers took the field tonight but not against a professional team. For the first time, the Brewers double A affiliate faced off against a college team. The Jackson State University Tigers started the game batting first but it was the Biloxi Shuckers who would take the lead early and never look back. This is the Shuckers second exhibition game. They played Saturday against their parent team, the Brewers.
Tonight’s crowd was a bit slim but there were a couple of special fans cheering on the home team. Michigan resident Drew Burton said, “We’re here from Michigan, just visiting our cousins and it would be cool to see a baseball game. It’s very warm outside, that’s probably why.”
After a seven inning ball game, the Shuckers took home the W, defeating the Tigers 17 to 0. Biloxi starts their regular season on Thursday, going head to head with the Chattanooga Lookouts.
