Shuckers Home Opener Pushed Back

This afternoon Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich announced that MGM Park will not be ready for baseball on Saturday, June 6th.
Tickets were sold by the Shuckers and the game is sold out. Fans can exchange tickets at the Shuckers box office for a future home game.
According to city officials, it would cost an extra $380,000 for the stadium to be ready for the June 6th deadline. Gilich says the city of Biloxi will instead work with Yates Construction toward an opening before August 4th. By June 1st, the Shuckers will have missed 25 home games and will miss another 24 from June 6th to August 4th. The city must pay $10,000 for each home game missed.
June 6th the Shuckers were scheduled to open a five game series with Mobile. The next home stand after that starts June 17th against Montgomery.
