Shuckers earn new franchise record 79 win season
Founded in 2015, the Biloxi Shuckers have come a long way and tonight they cement themselves as the greatest regular season team in franchise history.
The Shuckers beat the Birmingham Barons with a 10th inning walk-off, securing their 79th win of the season with four games still left to go.
That’s a new franchise record for Biloxi who already locked up the Southern League South first half title back in June and could still do the like for the second half.
Not to mention the Shuckers swept all three major post-season awards yesterday, becoming the first organization to do that since 2016.
Shuckers Ambassador Barry Lyons is proud of the organization and is excited to see what the future holds. “It’s such an honor to be a part of the organization, this has been a vision and a hope and a dream for me for so long and to have the success on top of all that has happened over the last several years, to bring it here and make it happen and now you see the fruits of all that labor and everything coming together not only on the field but in the front office, staff and employees, the ushers, everybody here does a phenomenal job.”
The Biloxi Shuckers will host the first two first round games of the Southern League South playoffs at MGM Park following the remaining four games of the series versus the Barons.
