Shuckers Announce Pregame Schedule for Brewers Exhibition Game
BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers will play an exhibition game on Saturday at MGM Park. First pitch is set for 1:10 pm. The historic matchup marks the first visit by a Major League team to Biloxi since 1938, 78 years ago, when the Philadelphia Phillies held spring training in Biloxi.
MGM Park gates will open at 11:00 am on Saturday morning, with festivities kicking off at 11:00 am. Select Brewers players will be signing autographs for fans from 11:05 am to 11:30 am. The Brewers will take batting practice on the field from 11:30 am to 12:10 pm. Shuckers’ batting practice on the field will coincide with the Brewers autograph session until 11:30 am. The pregame schedule is subject to change.
The Brewers are led by manager Craig Counsell, who is in his second season as manager of the Brewers (61-76) and first full season. Counsell was named the 19th manager in franchise history on May 4, 2015. On the field, the Crew is led by 2007 NL Rookie of the Year and 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun, the franchises career home run leader with 255. 2015 Southern League Manager of the Year, Carlos Subero will return to MGM Park as a coach for the Brewers, serving as first base and infield coach.
Six Biloxi Shuckers made their Major League debuts for the Brewers in 2015. Pitchers Yhonathan Barrios, Adrian Houser, Jorge Lopez and Tyler Wagner were joined by outfielder Michael Reed and infielder Yadiel Rivera. Currently there are eight former Shuckers on the Brewers 40-man roster. Those include pitchers Jacob Barnes, Yhonathan Barrios, Adrian Houser, Jorge Lopez, Damien Magnifico; infielders Orlando Arcia and Yadiel Rivera and outfielder Michael Reed.
