“Shrek the Musical”
In a faraway kingdom, there’s a tale of an ogre and a feisty princess and they’re both coming to life in Biloxi this weekend.
Downstage Productions presents the award winning “Shrek: the Musical” at the Biloxi Saenger Theater. The cast includes all of your fairytale favorites from Donkey to Fiona, the three little pigs and even the gingerbread man.
The crowds began to form around 6:30 this afternoon to purchase tickets for tonight’s performance. Rajaad Compton, who plays Donkey, tells News 25 there are countless reasons why you should see the show. “It’s a great show. It’s great for the family, great for kids. This production company is one of the best on the Coast and it’s definitely worth all the hype. There’s lots of lines, lots of songs, extravagant props. It’s one of the biggest shows that Downstage Production has done.”
If you couldn’t catch Shrek and all of his fairytale friends tonight, the performance will go on tomorrow at 7 p.m. and a matinee is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
