Severe storm damage across the state

Severe storms moved through parts of Mississippi Sunday.

Cleanup is underway in Yazoo County where a tornado passed through yesterday. Multiple homes along Witherspoon Road suffered damage.

Strong winds split trees in half and sent debris scattered throughout yards.

One resident says he just moved into his home on Saturday, but now, it is gone. “I just pulled up and I was laying across the seat of the truck and then when everything was all over, I looked out there and the trailer was behind me but it was in front of me when it started. Matter of fact it hit the front end of my truck when it come by me.”

So far, no injuries have been reported. The National Weather Service says tornados were confirmed in several counties.
