Senior Citizens Hold Mardi Gras Ball in Biloxi
Senior citizens socialized and ate king cake Wednesday afternoon, that is until the music started and it was time to dance. Dozens dressed in traditional Mardi Gras dresses, masks, and beads and danced the afternoon away at the Snyder Center in Biloxi. Senior supporters tell News 25 why events like these are so important.
Gwen Johnson says, "It gives them an opportunity to get out and socialize, enjoy Mardi Gras. A lot of times, seniors don’t get out to the parades, so this is an activity for them to come out and have fun."
Mary Lou Flayhan says, "I just want everyone to know seniors like to have fun too, and we’re young at heart."
Seniors let the good times roll and even crowned a king, queen, duke, and duchess.
