Love was in the air at the Gautier senior center with a Valentine’s Day sock hop.
All of the senior citizens brought their significant others and dancing shoes for an incredible event. What’s a Valentine’s day without cupcakes, flowers, candy, and ice cream? Every person had their fair share of romantic sweets. At the end of the sock hop, prizes were handed out to the best dressed and the person with the most Valentine’s Day spirit.
This event gave senior citizens on the coast the opportunity to have fun; showcasing love only gets better with time.
Pat Walters says, “There’s not a lot in the area for senior citizens to do that is free. So, we feel like we want to take this opportunity to offer as much as we can and it be free to support and promote our community.”
Be on the lookout for future senior citizen activities throughout the year, including Fourth of July celebrations and a drive in movie night.
