SENATE PASSES BILL BANNING ABORTIONS WHEN FETAL HEARTBEAT DETECTED

The State Senate today passed legislation that prohibits abortion in cases where a fetal heartbeat is detected. Senate bill 2116, which provides an exemption for cases of medical emergencies, heads to the house for consideration.
Lt. Governor Tate reeves issued a statement saying, “a beating heart means life has begun and should be protected, this bill is another step in our work to make Mississippi the safest place in America for an unborn child.”
