Senate Candidate Mike Espy holds meet and greet in Gulfport

Senate Candidate Mike Espy made his way through the Magnolia State for meet and greets Saturday.

Espy ultimately stopped in Gulfport where he was met with nearly 150 supporters. Local officials spoke to the crowd before handing the mic off to Espy who told stories of his time growing up in Mississippi and shared his views on several issues.

Espy says he wants voters to get to know him this time around. “I am experienced. I am independent. I’m a Democrat. I’m proud of it, but I don’t think the Democrats have all the answers. Neither do the Republicans have all the answers. I am someone who is independent who has worked across the aisle. I did it in ’86 and I did it in congress.”

Espy is running against Mississippi’s first female senator in Republican incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith.
