Secretary of State on voting preparations for general elections
With Election Day two weeks away, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is putting things in order in regards to voting preparations.
For starters, Hosemann went to Kuwait and allowed soldiers to vote electronically. He wants to put yellow ribbons on every precinct in Mississippi to represent those fighting for our freedom.
As far as cybersecurity, Hosemann met with the Department of Homeland Security in Washington. They discussed the attempted penetrations of Mississippi’s statewide election management system. “So what we want to make sure is that our unfriendly nations are not putting propaganda out that’s not accurate about some candidate. I work on that every day.”
Hosemann tells News 25 he has met with the Department of Homeland Security on at least three occasions.
