Second round of vaccines distributed at Pass Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center

Pass Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center residents and staff got their second round of the Pfizer COVID vaccine today.

More than 50 residents live at the nursing home. Around 40 of those residents and a number of staff received their second dose today.

Several residents who originally opted out of the vaccine had a change of heart chose to receive their first dose today as well.

Residents say they aren’t feeling at all nervous when it comes to the vaccine. In fact, the feeling is just the opposite. Resident Mark Giuffria said, “My hope is that I can see my friends and family again. I feel pretty good about receiving my second COVID shot. I look forward to a good happy life.”

Resident Marilyn Balancius said, “Not nervous. Because I said that I had the virus. I went to Singing River for about a week. The Lord must have saved me. I had a lot of good friends who passed away. It’s sad, but you know they’re in a better place. The Lord took care of me and I came out of it and that’s why I want to take the shot so I don’t get it again.”

The vaccinations were distributed through the clinic’s partnership with CVS Health.
