Second Man Pleads Guilty in Oxford
A second man has pleaded guilty in connection to a rope being tied around the neck of the James Meredith statue at the University of Mississippi.
Former Ole Miss student Austin Reed Edenfield pleaded guilty to one count of using a threat of force to intimidate African-American students and employees because of their race or skin color.
A second defendant, Graeme Harris pleaded guilty to the same charge in June 2015 and was sentenced to six months in prison. Edenfield’s sentencing will be held at a later date.
