Second annual Golden Nugget Glow Run
Mississippians are glowing in Biloxi and it’s all for a good cause.
It’s the second annual Golden Nugget Glow Run that helps benefit the American Heart Association. The event kicked off at 7:30 with a costume contest with people decked out in their glow gear then they set off to run a 5K across the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge and back.
One participant tells News 25 she’s always willing to run for a good cause and help raise awareness in the community. Participant Catherine Bogan said, “From last year, it has grown, tremendously and the more people that come out, the more you will be aware of the heart disease, you can actually come out and participate and it’s helping the community as well and it’s also good for your health.”
Prizes were given out for costume contest winners and the first place winner of the race. This year, the event had over 400 participants and are aiming to host another Glow Run next year.
