Science and Engineering Fair

Hundreds of students from first grade to high school took part in the Region Six Science and Engineering Fair today in Biloxi.
The fair took place at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center. The top placing students from schools in George, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, and Stone counties were there.
Students showed off their projects which ranged from self-made robots to water conservation. St. Alphonsus fourth grader Matthew Havte said, “I wanted people at an old age that are suffering to do simple things like pick up the mail on the ground, I wanted this robot here to actually do those kind of things for them.”
St. Alphonsus third grader Benjamin Lora said, “We measured the plants in different soil types and different watering frequencies and see which ones grew the best. Science rules.”
Students who take the top spots today will go on to the state science fair.
